Alice Springs Region - Stuart Highway/Karnte Road - Intersection Upgrade
Intersection upgrade works aim to provide a new and safer intersection and to suite A-Triple Road Train (Stanes Transport Trucks) into the Karnte Road.
Works Include;
- relocation of service utilities;
- construction of temporary detours;
- importation of fill and gravel material from a Alice Springs commercial gravel pit;
- excavation and construction of new sealed pavement;
- construction of a passing lane for south bound Stuart Highway traffic;
- construction of and a right turning lane for Karnte Road bound traffic coming from the North; and
- installation of new road signage and line marking.
