Panel Contract for the Provision of Well-Being and Recreational Programs at Don Dale Youth Detention Centre & Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre for a Period of 36 Months
The requirement is for the delivery of wellbeing based and recreational programs and activities by a variety of culturally safe, trauma informed and proactive facilitators from our community to all young people in youth detention in both Darwin and Alice Springs.
A range of individual providers and organisations will be sourced to provide program sessions focused on youth development and wellbeing through therapeutic and recreational activities, including:
• Cultural and Identity strengthening;
• Connection to culture - LORE, Language, practice, kinship, history, stories
• Mentoring
• Sports and fitness;
• Art;
• Animal therapy/training; and
• structured, sport and recreational activities during school and public holidays.
Program providers will be required to provide engaging, one on one and group activities to young people within the detention centre, provide monthly feedback to Program Coordinator and attend quarterly contract management meetings
