Alice Springs, Darwin - Provision of Portable Radio Communications Network Solution for a Period of 36 Months

The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (the Department) is seeking a communication solution for a Portable Radios network, including ancillary equipment and radio infrastructure to support the Darwin and Alice Springs Youth Detention Centres, the Darwin Juvenile Court and Emergency Management as and when required.

The solution is required to be a reliable, robust two-way radio communications network, together with the capacity to:

  • record radio broadcast conversations for evidentiary purposes;
  • the ability to track radio movements both within and off the complex;
  • the ability to remotely reprogram a radio (OTAR); and
  • the ability to use the radio as a duress alarm in case of incident or emergency.

The Department currently utilises Motorola 3000 and 4000 series portable radios with a repeater network and are seeking to update to a solution utilising the mobile network if appropriate.
