Owen Springs Power Station - Construction of New Jenbacher Enclosure Cooling System

The project entails the construction of evaporative cooling system and necessary auxiliary systems for the Jenbacher powerhouse at Owen Springs Power Station. The scope of work includes:

  • Modification of the existing powerhouse ventilation enclosure for each unit
  • Installation of the evaporative cassettes for the new cooling system along with all associated mechanical, civil, controls, and electrical works.
  • Supply and installation of the new water softening system along with all associated mechanical, civil, controls, and electrical works.
  • Commissioning of the new system

The works also cover safety systems implementation, environmental controls, and compliance with relevant standards to ensure operational reliability and safety. The project aims to restore generation capacity during peak temperatures strengthening our power networks’ reliability.
