The consultant/competent person needs to collect, review and analyse data to provide a recommendation to Department of Treasury and Finance on the adequacy of compensation contributions that motor vehicle users pay via motor vehicle registration fees. For the purposes of reviewing compensation contributions, this requires a person who can provide actuarial services/analysis in order to estimate the number of claims the MAC Scheme will incur, including catastrophic injury claims (i.e. brain injuries and spinal injuries that require lifetime care).
