Territory Pathology has been requested to increase the daily COVID 19 testing capacity from 2,500 to at least 4,000. This level of increase requires automation of the testing process at a level commensurate with the requested daily testing capacity. The COBAS 6800 is widely used in Australian testing facilities for COVID 19. During the recent lockdown Territory Pathology had to send approximately 4,000 tests interstate for testing at a contract rate of $65 per test, with extended processing times directly related to transport logistics. Territory Pathology currently has Roche PCR equipment.
