McMonty Ventilation Hoods (by Medihood) are an option to support greater risk minimisation to staff and patients within the outpatient dialysis setting. These have been used with success for the treatment of dialysis patients positive with COVID-19 in a controlled setting within health services such as The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Health (Victoria). The Hoods are part of a free-standing system that is able to extract air from within a confined space whilst allowing full visibility of the patient. The system is an addition to full PPE and is not to be used in place of PPE or as an alternative to safe ventilation within the dialysis setting.
Ventilation Hoods for dialysis patients within outpatient settings within the Nightcliff Renal Unit, Lorraine Brennan Centre, Tiwi Islands Dialysis Unit and for stock on site for use as required
o Purchase 20 of McMonty Ventilation Hoods with allocation as follows:
· 6 ventilation hoods to Tiwi Islands Dialysis Unit
· 5 ventilation hoods to Lorraine Brennan Centre
5 ventilation hoods to Nightcliff Renal Unit
4 ventilation hoods to be located at RDH for use as required
