This procurement aims to engage a Consultant to prepare a report collating historical and current water supply and demand data that provides a snapshot of water availability across the Northern Territory by region, location, source and water resource. There is a potential extension to build a Water Availability NT Data Portal leveraging existing NT Government ICT systems.
The NT Water Availability Stocktake will:
- Establish baseline information and methodology for future analysis of NT wide water security;
- Inform NTG planning, decision-making and policy development including, identifying priority actions to be included in the Northern Territory Strategic Water Plan;
- Provide transparency on water availability to the public to build better understanding; and
- Provide current and accurate information about water security for government and businesses to support management and investment decisions.
