Darwin - Supply Delivery and Installation of a Herbarium Technical Imaging System

The Northern Territory (NT) Herbarium (DEPWS) holds a scientific and cultural collection of biological artefacts totalling approximately 300,000 individual items. The NT Herbarium has an existing medium-format technical digitisation system for capturing high resolution (100 megapixel +) images of biological collections which has reached it’s ‘effective end of life’.
The NT Herbarium requires a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to Supply, Delivery and Installation of a high-resolution technical imaging system at the herbarium facility in Palmerston, NT. This requirement will include a high-resolution, medium-format reprographic image capture device, matched and calibrated (alignment and parallelism) lens apparatus with auto-focus capability, professional-grade photographic lighting system with remote triggers, colour calibration/reference targets, professional-grade imaging workstation with 4k widescreen display and appropriate storage capabilities to handle the large file sizes and large data volumes generated by such a system. 
Options for cost recovery through trade in of the existing legacy system are also sought from prospective respondents. A range of options and pricing are sought with specifications of the existing available on request for interested respondents.
The Contract will also include operationalisation and ongoing support of the system during the establishment phase.
