Darwin - Consultancy - Kakadu National Park Roads Upgrade - Engineering Design Consultancy
Within the Kakadu National Park, six road projects have been identified for significant upgrades with the objective of increasing opening access to key park attractions. These projects are as follows: upgrading of substandard sections of Jim Jim Falls Road, Gimbat Road, Gunlom Road, Maguk Access Road, realignment of sections of Kubara Road to improve safety and access to the heritage area, and to upgrade Magela Creek Crossing to improve opening access to the East Alligator Region.
The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics intends to award a comprehensive engineering design consultancy for these six road projects, to undertake preliminary investigations, concept design, detailed design, environmental risk assessments and referral documentation, biodiversity and archaeological surveys, quantity surveying and extensive hydrology studies, and development of specifications and construction documentation.
