Power and Water Corporation (Power and Water) is a government-owned corporation that meets the needs of its customers while acknowledging the expectations of its shareholder, the Treasurer of the Northern Territory Government. Power and Water provides electricity, water and sewerage services to five major urban areas including the capital city of Darwin, as well as 72 remote Aboriginal communities and 66 outstations through its 100% owned subsidiary, Indigenous Essential Services Pty Ltd (IES). Power and Water also supplies gas to the Territory’s major power stations.

Power and Water is also the first Northern Territory Government-owned Corporation to develop and implement a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in accordance with Reconciliation Australia’s vision for organisations to contribute to the reconciliation of the nation. Power and Water is investing in developing effective employment and training programs and strategies to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in a culturally diverse and competent workforce.

Power and Water employs hundreds of Territorians in technical, professional and customer service roles, and there are regular opportunities to tender for outsourced support. Power and Water has a requirement for the engagement of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to complement the existing Cyber Security Team in structuring and managing our internal resources and external vendor partners in the implementation of the organisation’s cyber security strategy and achieving compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act.

Power and Water is seeking the services of an experienced Chief Information Security Officer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is a vital part of Power and Water’s Cyber Security team within the broader Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) business unit.

The Chief Information Security Officer will be responsible for leading, facilitating, documenting, designing, planning, and delivering power and water’s cyber security strategy and associated implementation plans including the compliance requirements and work that supports the organisation’s current needs.

The Chief Information Security Officer will report directly to the General Manager Technology and Systems.
