The Project will develop and validate a robust, field-ready workflow for detecting saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) using eDNA analysis in Northern Territory waters and deliver a statistically defensible sampling scheme for Parks and Wildlife operational use. The project objectives are based on field collection of samples and lab and bioinformatic analysis at CDU: 1) Assay evaluation and captive trials for eDNA detection of NT C. porosus; 2) Workshop and co-design on sampling methods for eDNA detection of NT C. porosus; and 3) Develop and assess an eDNA field sampling scheme at six agreed sites for detection of C. porosus
