Darwin - Dripstone Secondary College - Design, Document and Construct Upgrade of Existing Science Laboratory

As part of the Secondary School Reform Upgrades, the Department of Education is planning to upgrade an existing Science Laboratory (Room G7) at Dripstone Secondary College.

The selected laboratory (G7) is currently the only laboratory within the school fitted with a fume
cupboard.

The existing laboratory configuration includes benches along one side only. The school has identified a requirement to install laboratory benches along both sides of the room to improve functionality and student capacity.

DLI is undertaking a concept design, and a contractor will be engaged to carry out detail design,
certification, documentation and construction for works which include but not limited to:
• Design and certification.
• Removal and replacement of existing laboratory joinery.
• Installation of new cabinetry and laboratory benches to both sides of the laboratory.
• Electrical upgrades to accommodate new laboratory configuration.
• Hydraulic upgrades including gas, water and drainage services.
• Replacement of vinyl flooring and skirting.
• Replacement of existing pinboard panels.
• Associated painting works.

Construction shall be staged to enable continuous operation of the school with minimal disruption to staff and students.
