AGRN 1269 - TROPICAL LOW FLOOD EVENT - MARCH 2026 - CARPENTARIA HIGHWAY - JUMP UP - CH230.00KM - 233.50KM

The Carpentaria Highway sustained flood damage between approximately Ch.
230.00 km and Ch. 233.50 km, an area commonly referred to as the Carpentaria
Jump Up, with the concentration of failure points, erosion and scour damage
predominantly located between Ch. 231.200 km and Ch. 232.500 km. The damage
is attributed to the impacts of Cyclone Narelle and the associated AGRN 1269 -
Tropical Low Flood Event of March 2026.
The affected sections require urgent recovery, reconstruction and preventative
intervention works to reinstate the damaged sections of the Highway and to
prevent further deterioration of already vulnerable areas prior to the upcoming
wet season which is approaching.
The reinstatement works are proposed for delivery under the ES emergency
exemption plan based on urgency and requirement to shape the site before it is
too late. This is also assessed and factored in consideration of technical capability,
availability of the preferred contractor and demonstrated value engineering of the
site for money. Full details of the project under discussion including its detailed
scope and objectives, market approach, contractor evaluation, and pricing are set
out in the completed FT 38 Authority to Purchase (ES Exemption) form, attached
herewith.
Refer to the attached FT 38 Authority to Purchase (ES Exemption) form for
supporting details including photographic evidence of the site under discussion.
