Alice Springs Hospital and Katherine District Hospital - Central Sterilisation Service Department (CSSD) - Upgrades

Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) requires upgrades to its Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) to meet current standards.

To support this work whilst the permanent facility is constructed a temporary modular CSSD unit will be required to be installed to ensure continued operation throughout the upgrade period.

The scope of work at ASH includes but not limited to:

• Temporary and permanent building works
• Decommissioning and removal of existing Furniture, Fittings & Equipment (FF&E)
• Electrical upgrades to the permanent facility
• Hydraulic upgrades to the permanent facility
• Coordination and communication of construction activities in the main CSSD to minimise disruption to hospital operations
• Provision of modular CSSD, transportation, installation, connection and eventual demobilisation of a temporary modular CSSD unit to Katherine District Hospital
• Procurement, installation and removal of change room and storeroom modular units
• Restoration and make-good works to the temporary set down area.
   

Once the permanent CSSD works at ASH are completed, the modular unit will be demobilised and relocated to Katherine District Hospital (KDH), where it will be installed as a permanent CSSD solution. The existing internal CSSD at KDH will then be decommissioned and refurbished, allowing the hospital to repurpose the space for storage.

 The scope of work at KDH includes:

• Provision of modular CSSD, transportation from ASH, installation and connection.
• Construction of permanent walkway building works to connect modular unit to the main building.
